Early this year January my friend from university wanted to buy a car in South Africa, so our branch in Zambia helped him with export so i personally wanted to work on his deal, with the type of relationship i have with him, i always want to give him my best of service. so my friend wanted two specific car models a Mercedez Benz and a BMW which my team in Johannesburg found at 5 dealerships. Our budget on purchase was R200,000 -R300,000, my team called all of the dealerships and could only set up an appointment with only 1 dealership and it was with this new sweet sales agent and guess what it was her second day at work, i went to view the cars and funny enough my friend ended up liking something else at that dealership and we ended up exporting a Toyota Hilux and this was way above our budget, reason being my friend ended up liking something else, so what am i saying here, does it take a good sales guys to close a sale? maybe yes but sometimes you just need to be available and reachable to solve ones problem. We couldn’t reach the other 4 dealerships because of unreliable company communication system and those dealerships that missed our sales calls, each one of them lost an opportunity to make R390,000 and guess what, they probably don’t even know up until now, so the question is how many times have you lost on business opportunities that you never even knew you had? Just because on that day your business phone system was unreachable or you couldn’t hear your client clear.
